The team led by Pablo Laso has won the Costa del Sol tournament and the Sportquarters Series, in which they played Cibona, Unicaja, Blusens Monbus and Estudiantes
Four games, four victories. Pablo Laso’s Real Madrid are overcoming obstacles. To date, they have participated in the Costa del Sol tournament and the Sportquarters Series and won both. To become champions they had to beat Cibona, a rejuvenated Unicaja, Obradoiro and Estudiantes. The keys: the same as last year. Speed, rebounds and counter attacks and fast transitions.
The new season in sight and the same DNA. Pablo Laso’s Real Madrid, last year’s Copa del Rey winning team have begun preparations with more than positive feelings. Despite training begin staggered due to the late arrival of the internationals that participated in the London Olympic Games Laso’s players have demonstrated that they work perfectly as a team. Four games and four victories show that they have not lost steam and the trophies at the Costa del Sol tournament and Sportquarters Series are proof of that.
Laso’s players began their friendlies against Cibona, and won comfortably 95-68 with an outstanding performance from Mirotic. In the final against Unicaja they also prevailed 65-82 whilst flaunting their superiority and were crowned champions of the tournament in Malaga. This weekend they have been in Guadalajara where the Whites were able but to put a clear distance between themselves and Blusens Monbus (60-86). In the final against Estudiantes, which they played the next Sunday, the story was different. They came up against an opponent that made things complicated for them right up until the end but they got the win and maintained their undefeated record. Real Madrid’s start has been good, in fact it is the best of the teams competing in the Liga Endesa. Only Valencia can boast, like Real Madrid to have not lost a game in pre-season.
