The making of the official 2012-13 Real Madrid basketball photo

This morning the Real Madrid basketball squad had their official 2012-13 season photo taken in the Valle de las Cañas sports centre, the usual training ground for the team coached by Pablo Laso. The players and the coaching staff posed alongside Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez in a photo shoot that’s always an enjoyable occasion. The new players, Draper and Slaugther, witnessed the great atmosphere in the squad, who this year have big objectives after winning the Copa del Rey last season in Barcelona.

The Real Madrid training court turned into an enormous photography studio for the day, with the Whites’ squad having their portrait taken as they face a season set to be very exciting and in which the current Copa del Rey champion aims to win all the competitions it participates in. The shoot began with individual portraits. First on the scene were the members of the coaching staff with Pablo Laso at the head. This is his second season coaching the Real Madrid squad.

After the coaching staff it was the players’ turn. One by one they posed in the uniform. The most experienced, such as Sergio Llull, Sergio Rodríguez, Felipe Reyes and Carlos Suárez, joked with the two new backups, Draper and Slaugther, and the academy player Willy Hernangómez, one of the Whites’ most promising players who received all kinds of comments concerning his trainers. The two Americans had an intense and very thorough photography shoot. Another of the Olympic runner-ups, Rudy Fernández, provided a spectacular sequence of pictures of himself thrashing the hoop.

Lastly, the first squad posed with the president, the section heads and coaching staff for the group photo. Florentino Pérez presided the photo flanked by the Olympic runner-ups and Real Madrid captains, Felipe Reyes and Sergio Llull. Juan Carlos Sánchez Lázaro and Alberto Herreros were also present. The club president also had various photos taken with the four Spain players who won silver in London 2012; with the new players Draper, Slaugther and Rudy; with the captains Reyes and Llull; with the academy players Mirotic and Hernangómez; and with Pablo Laso and his coaching staff.
